On Wednesday, May 14, 2008, a lecture was put together by the Assyrian Democratic Movement(Zowaa), Chicago Chapter, in honor of Ms. Galita, Member of the Northern Iraq Parliament and also the head of the Women's Organization in Iraq. The lecture took place at the Chaldo Assyrian Center located in Skokie, Illinois and had a great turnout. After the lecture, the Assyrian National Council of Illinois hosted a dinner for Ms. Galita.
